☞ EAT:What is Harlem's Most Popular Restaurant?

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que appears to not only be the most visited restaurant in all of Harlem but is also the top attraction uptown according to a recent article in the New York Post.  Social media apps such as Foursquare were analyzed and it turns out that the BBQ joint on West 125th Street and 12th Avenue even beats out the likes of the Red Rooster as being the spot to visit in Harlem. This West Harlem location of the famous eatery became an instant success with its moderate prices, rustic roadhouse interiors and food that bring even the downtown crowd up to visit. 1. I love Dinosaur, but a 90 minute wait at 5:45 PM is pretty absurd.

  2. That whole ViVa area has undergone such an amazing transformation. I feel truly blessed to live right 'above' all the action. As i watched the movie 'Juice' last night it made me yearn for a new diner/eatery on that corner by 125th and Exterior. The location underwent a complete renovation but I haven't seen any activity. If they'd open an eatery I think you'd have a Red Rooster effect where people who don't necessarily want to wait 90 mins for Dino BBQ would end up eating there. Win-win for everyone I believe.

  3. I've visited the place at least 4 times. I love bbq and really want to love the place. But i've been disappointed every time. :( Chicken is overcooked, and the ribs are not cooked long and slow enough They are tough and chewy. If it were cheaper I could excuse the quality.

  4. Darlene, I feel the same way. I've been there a few times and had ok food but I'm not blown away by it like everybody else who raves about the place. I still wish them continued success though. Just makes me feel like maybe I'm missing something...lol

  5. BBQ is one of those things that people feel very strongly about one way or the other, so it stands to reason that some people love it, and some people don't see what all the fuss is about.
