☞ BESPOKE: Harlem Street Style in the Times

The Times fashion section served up some Harlem street style recently and had a little bit of everything in the beginning of a short video clip.  Mount Morris Park's Historic strip of Lenox Avenue is featured and had a range of looks including a woman in traditional African dress to a gay couple holding hands in their henleys. Ultimately the video catches up with Ariel Weekes who talks about the summer staple known as the white t-shirt.  Men's fashion never changes too drastically and the newness can usually be found in the details as the young Harlem gentleman soon explains. Mr. Weekes updates his oversize knit top with the currently trendy v-neck variation, rolled sleeves, skinny jeans, brightly colored bracelets and coral colored canvas oxfords.  See the full video in the New York Times: LINK

  1. Great video, Harlem style is color coordination, even for the most casual.

  2. I am sick of folks referring to Harlem as a borough or in this video, a sub-borough? What the hell is that? Harlem is a neighborhood in Manhattan like Soho, Upper westside and Chelsea.

  3. Ok that was just silly, with all the stylish men and women in Harlem the times chooses to do this nonsense with some kid who calls Harlem a borough or sub borough. Not worth the tape they wasted on it.
