Northern Manhattan has become the highest performing neighborhood in Manhattan as far as real estate sales are concerned according to a recent Crain's article. Compared to the first half of 2011, this year's first six months saw sales triple uptown with much of older inventory being sold off. Many of the buildings were bought by institutional investors at the height of the market several years back and now are making returns comparable to what they were purchased for.
