☞ REMEMBER: The Manhattanville Car Wash
A photo from 1941 shows the original Shell gas station and car wash that stood at the corner of 125th Street and 12th Avenue. Today those buildings are one of the last standing ones on the block that is currently the construction site for the new Manhattanville campus of Columbia University. The existing car wash and the storage building behind it will be seized by Eminent Domain and eventually demolished.
