☞ EAT: Signs up at Maison Harlem

More activity was happening over at the yet-to-open Maison Harlem space when we walked by this past week. The new eatery at 341 St. Nicholas Avenue has been busy working on the interior but the facade at the corner of West 127th Street just got a bit of an update.  Classic red lamps have just arrived out front and the subtle signage for the restaurant's moniker has also been added in a matching hue.  This French restaurant looks to be the opening to watch out for this fall in Central Harlem and the finishing details appear to be coming along nicely.

  1. I wish all the best for Maison Harlem, but I am not sure the neighborhood is ready to embrace it. I have lived right around the corner from there for the past 3 years, and 127 and St Nick Terrace is right where hoards of young people congregate throughout the evening. And lots of people are going into the corner store next door to buy alcohol.

  2. Well, maybe they'll stop for dinner! ;)

I also live around the corner, and I'm excited to try it!

  3. I live around the corner too. This type of thing is exactly what the neighborhood needs. Can't wait to walk out of the 127th subway exit to the new neighborhood bar/restaurant/coffee shop. Hope it finishes soon so we can enjoy those french doors.

  4. This French restaurant is a positive addition to another Harlem downbeat hangout corner. This kind of change has proven successful elsewhere in Harlem as there are enough Harlemites clamoring for positive additions to support this, I wish them success.

  5. I'm an Upper West Sider moving to Harlem this fall. I'm very much looking forward to eating at Maison Harlem. My fiance is French, and there are few authentic French places in our current neighborhood. We expect this to be one of our neigborhood hang outs when we arrive. So - let's wish these guys good luck and be optimistic for them. I've been watching their progress here on Harlem Bespoke, and clearly they are working hard to create a special place.
