☞ BESPOKE: Harlem Fashion Show c. 1963
An image by photographer Leonard Freed shows the glamorous side of Harlem during the Mad Men era. Taken in 1963, this photo would be an example of Harlem's style elite coming together to represent the more polished side of uptown. Similar trends to the above looks that have come back recently include the shorts and suit combination, mens narrow brim caps as well as the ubiquitous super slim suit. As far as locations go, we are not sure where this was taken in Harlem but would guess probably the long gone Lewisohn Stadium within West Harlem's City College : LINK
