☞ REVIVE: The Harlem Tavern
Back in 2011 a former abandoned gas station at 116th Street and FDB/8th Avenue started going under a renovation that would make it one of the most popular spots in a quickly changing Harlem. The Harlem Tavern will be celebrating Octoberfest later on this month on September 22nd and the outdoor beer garden has shown what a little vision can do for neglected spaces uptown. Service can be a bit spotty at times but the well priced offerings have this place constantly packed at all hours with locals and folks visiting from other neighborhoods. There were a few doubters in the past but the Tavern has become one of the great recent success stories as far as restaurant openings are concerned.

ReplyDeletetwo thumbs way up.
I've been twice recently - a prime busy time and a dead time - and in addition to food being good and reasonably priced, the service was perfect.
ReplyDeletepretty good service. The owner is hands on considering she is having twins.
