Trunk Show Designer Consignment shop opened up earlier in the season at 275-277 West 113th Street just east of FDB/8th Avenue. Uptown fashion deal seekers can have their designer items up for resale or find the likes of Chanel, YSL, Gucci and Jimmy Choo at this new boutique shop in South Harlem. I had high hopes for this store, but after visiting this place a couple of times I just don't see them lasting for very long. Their prices are pretty high - surprisingly, even higher than some of the better known consignment shops like Fisch for the Hip and Second Chance in the WV and SoHo, let alone online. Why would I pay nearly $300 for USED Jimmy Choo flats when I can get the same ones, NEW, from Gilt or RueLaLa for the same price or sometimes even cheaper? Same goes for most of the other stuff they carry. I get the whole instant gratification appeal of having everything there and ready to go instead of having to wait for the sales, but still. After all, this is the neighborhood that complains about $20 pizza at Bad Horse. I hope they find a way to prove me wrong.
ReplyDeleteMax, i thought the exact same thing. It seems a bit odd. maybe they are doing loans to stylist and movies, who knows.
