Poet Maya Angelou purchased a dilapidated Harlem townhouse in the Mount Morris Park Historic District back in 2004 on the suggestion of a friend without even stepping foot into the building. Now the Journal has a few photos of the renovated interior which preserves some of the woodwork and has soft furnishings in the colors of a fruitbowl:
