☞ INTRODUCING: A Manhattanville Tower Rises
The new Columbia University campus just north of 125th Street and Broadway has not seen much action besides the demolition of older buildings but that has now changed. We noticed in the past week that the first tower is finally starting to rise now after a couple of years of groundwork which seemed never ending. This new construction should add more foot traffic to this section of Manhattanville and will eventually balance the skyline with a more modern, taller construction. Harlem has mostly low level, historic buildings and a majority of the high rises in the area consist of structures built in the mid century at a time when architecture was not very interesting. See the final rendering in our past post: LINK
