☞ SHOP: A Preview of Serengeti Teas & Spices

We mentioned about 3 weeks ago that a tea boutique would open on FDB/8th Avenue by 122nd Street and now the signage has debuted on the boulevard.  The owner gave us a quick preview of the space that will be offering up tea, coffee and specialty bites.  Most of the interior is still under construction but warm, dark wood has been added to the interior that also features some very distinct filament light bulb fixtures in a bronze finish.  A custom made door which had animal print inspired cutouts was still a work in progress and will also be stained accordingly.  Dark stained shelves that have been installed on the wall will eventually stock up on teas from Africa and Asia of which the proprietor's family has specialized in for decades.  Folks should expect and opening sometimes in August for this little bespoke shop that will eventually serve true infused flavors such as vanilla from a bean instead of a pump.

  1. Pretty excited about this. Hope they have good COFFEE as the only place in Harlem that uses high quality beans is Lenox Coffee which, for me, is a bit out of the way. Still surprised a good cafe/coffee shop has not opened on FDB yet. Frederick is the closest i guess and their coffee is pretty sub par.
