There are still a handful of empty lots on the side Streets of South Harlem and it now appears that number 274 West 117th Street will be developed into affordable housing. Oddly enough, DOB permits show that the new building will only be 4 stories tall with a penthouse addition on top. Permits were approved last month to get the project started and we noticed that the lot just west of St. Nicholas Avenue had new plywood up on site. Apparently there will be 7,000 square feet in total and 8 units available when construction finishes up.
