☞ SHOP: Late Summer Farmers Market 2013

Out of all of the farmers markets in Harlem, we tend to favor the Morningside Market at Manhattan Avenue and 110th Street because of its seasonal selection.  Standards such as fresh corn and root vegetables are available for the summer but the arrival of Zucchini flowers, Japanese turnips and tiny Seckel Pears recently caught our eye.  Then there is the purplish red Callaloo which seems rather exotic  but apparently is a staple of Caribbean cuisine.  Other vendors include an artisanal Mexican ice pop stand, Brooklyn cured, Bombay Emerald Chutney Company,  the pickle guys and a couple of great local bakeries makes this Saturday Harlem market the one to check out: LINK
