☞ DWELL: The Bailey Mansion 2013
The last time we checked on the the James A. Bailey house on Sugar Hill, the owners were hoping to get the scaffolding down by the end of 2012 and that ambitious goal appears to not have happened in an expeditious manner. We walked by the white castle of Sugar Hill on the corner of St. Nicholas at 150th Street in recent weeks and noticed that the facade work was still at hand. This house of Barnum and Bailey fame sold back in 2009 right after the markets crashed for the price of what a small brownstone fixer-upper would cost today but the renovation process is taking much longer because of the sheer scope of work: LINK
