Serengeti Teas and Spice on FDB/8th Avenue by 123rd Street is our pick for best new shop for 2013. The owner has a family business in African and Asian teas and the wide selection at the boutique shop is one of the more unique ones in the city. Blends using hibiscus, black, red, green and even white tea can all be found at Serengeti Teas. We also like the complete experience of the shop which successfully blends African themes with an updated aesthetic not found at some smaller stores in the area. Tea parlors have come and gone in Central Harlem but this little bespoke storefront will definitely be here to stay for some time.
