Looking dressed to impress has always been a big part of Harlem but the actual designers from the neighborhood have not really been recorded on film in a big way. We found this 1950s fashion show image taken in Harlem which has a group of models lined up to present their looks. From what we can gather from the collection shown, this is probably a winter presentation since fur and tweed are at the forefront. As far as having a record of the designers uptown was concerned, a local resident did establish a Black Fashion Museum located within a brownstone on 126th Street at one point in time but that building is now vacant today: LINK
