ARCHITECTURE: THE KOCH & Co. BUILDING
The Koch Building at 125th Street between ACP/7th and Lenox has been around since 1893 and is still one of the most majestic examples of architecture on the boulevard. This probably was the Macy's of its time when it first arrived to Harlem but would shutter by the 1930. Right now there are a lot of smaller retail stores within the street level spaces of the Koch today but nothing existing on 125th Street in modern times would probably ever be comparable to the shopping experience this retailer must have provided at the turn of the last century.
