ARCHITECTURE OLD & NEW BY MORNINGSIDE PARK
Lower Morningside Avenue by 110th Street is getting such a major makeover these days which has a little something for every taste level. At the corner of 110th, the market rate One Morningside Park is apparently selling out very quickly at prices seen much further south and has actually modernized the skyline since taller, Brutalist-Era structures have dominated this location just a block away from Central Park in the past few decades. A bit north, 272 Morningside is going under a major facade and interior renovation which will surely bring out its prewar charms after years of being abandoned. This part of South Harlem still retains a lot of charm because of the older structures but it is also nice to see a newer building finally arriving to liven up the high-rise element in the area.
