Sugar Hill Market x Harlem Garage will debut the Dream of Fashion line at the next Sunday, May 4th event. DOF was recently worn by certain singer named Beyoncé but prefers to keep things on the local level. The designer's message of focusing on cultural heritage but updating silhouettes so that they can be worn by a confident, modern woman has hit a strong note with a newer generation who are embracing the past but looking at the future. Shown above is a Spring 2014 cape in traditional African wax prints that takes a currently trending outerwear piece into the warm-weather season. The over all impression is that of modern outerwear that one will not find at any commercial brands. Each piece will be smartly priced since local shoppers will be working directly with the designer brand and not an over-priced boutique somewhere downtown.
