Finding a studio in Harlem with rent for around $1,000 has become more difficult to come by since this past spring and number 555 West 152nd Street kind of hits that mark at $1,100 a month. This ground floor space has been fixed up recently and is not at all bad for a starter apartment but the block would probably be considered more on the has-great-potential side of things. With that said, there are some nice brownstones in the area and better spots like Harlem Public and the Chipped Cup are only a couple of blocks away on the Broadway corridor. Local subways are within a 5 minute walking distance but the coveted 145th Street express station is a bit of a hike. More details and contact information can be found on the broker site:
