BESPOKE: XYZ COOPERATIVE IN HARLEM
XYZ Cooperative is a fair trade traditional rug merchant in Central Harlem that specializes in Native Mexican American rugs which are hand-woven in the traditional method passed down through the generations. The above photos are from a past trip to Oaxaca where the wool yarns are all dyed with natural pigments and show the complexity of colors not usually found at any commercial outlet stateside. XYZ Cooperative still has a small collection left but will also be taking custom orders at the next Sugar Hill Market this coming Sunday at Harlem Garage. Difficult sizes such as hallway runners or stairs can be ordered for the next production line in the upcoming months. More details on the Sunday, June 15th Sugar Hill Market can be found here: LINK
