REMEMBER: 125TH STREET FERRY STATION CIRCA 1910
A postcard from 1910 shows the Fort Lee Ferry Station by the Hudson at what was originally 130th Street but is today called 125th Street. Ferries on the Hudson operated up until the early 1960s from what we can gather and it is unclear when the actual station was demolished. In the past decade, the West Harlem Piers have been developed on the site and now provides a green space for recreational sunbathing, picnic and fishing (which is still not safe to eat btw) for the general public.
