A friend mentioned that Hyacinth's Have just opened on ACP/7th Avenue just below 139th Street so we stopped by this afternoon to check out the new shop. What we discovered was a cozy, old fashion mom and pop spot which has somewhat of a diner feel to it with the bar and stools at the front. Finishes are a bit more contemporary than what the signage conveys out front but it all works somehow on the inside. There is more seating towards the back and we were told that the patio will soon be open in the outdoor garden and folks can drop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner at this point in time. Prices are reasonable and they also have a happy hour.
For coffee drinkers out there, Hyacinth's also serves a great brew for those who want to just hang out at the cafe or take it on the go. Service was also warm and welcoming which made a nice impression. The Strivers Row District is finally picking up these days and will be the one to look out for in the coming months!
