INTRODUCING: CHAI WALI TO OPEN ON LENOX

After trying to speculate for the past few weeks on what CW stands for on the corner of Lenox and 124th Street, we finally found the answer through a New York Times article just published. It turns out a former Indian expat who moved into the aforementioned townhouse (via the Financial District) will be living upstairs with her family and opening up Chai Wali downstairs.  Aparently the chai lattes we have all been drinking is equivalent to the watered down coffee most of us grew up with and true Indian chai should actually be more robust.  Tea parlors have not had much luck in Harlem in the past but the public palette has changed in the past 5 years and chai is definitely a hot trend these day.  Based on the article, CW looks like it is going to be the real deal: LINK
