REMEMBER: SUBWAY AND SHORE CIRCA 1929
A photo from 1929 shows a shoreline in the front and a subway station in the background. The aforementioned subway kiosk is no longer intact today and the low-rise building at the corner disappeared a long time ago. With that said, the clues are easy enough for a seasoned Harlem resident to figure out this particular vantage point from the past. Can anyone guess?
ANSWER: The shoreline is that of the Harlem Meer on by Central Park North at 110th Street and the subway station is the 2,3 line at the corner of Lenox. As mentioned, the kiosk has been dismantled and the low-rise building is now a luxury condo tower.
