REVIVE: EAST 125TH STREET PLAZA ON HOLD
The $700 million East Harlem Entertainment Media and Cultural Center that has been planned for the past 5 years for the entire block between 2nd and 3rd Avenue on East 125th Street apparently lost a major developer in the very beginning and has since not found a replacement. General Growth went bankrupt when market collapsed in 2009 and a key developer has since been missing from the project spearheaded by the city's Economic Development Corporation. Eminent Domain has also been an issue that complicates the matter which now might not have been necessary all along since all of the financing was not in place all these years.
