REMEMBER: HISTORY ON 135TH STREET
One story that we have yet to featured over the years is that of the historic walk of fame on 135th Street just east of FDB/8th Avenue on the north side of the street. A half dozen or so diamond-shaped plaques can be found embedded within the sidewalk with famous Harlem residents such as Ella Fitzgerald, Malcolm X, Arturo Schomburg and James Baldwin. There are so many great Renaissance figures like Langston Hughes that are not included but maybe one day 135th Street will have more additions to commemorate Harlem's rich past.
