ARCHITECTURE: NEW FACADE AT 142ND & BROADWAY
All of the facade work except the signage has finished up on the corner of Broadway and 142nd Street. There had been plywood up at the commercial space over the past few months but now a classic storefront has been revealed with some cool crafted windows, a prominent cornice and impressive paneling on the lower sections. Based on tips received over the past few weeks, this will reportedly be one of the big coffee chains who now appear to be really serious about setting something up that will fit into a historic neighborhood: LINK

We won't really know until the final signage goes up btw.
ReplyDeleteallegedly will be a gay bar.
ReplyDeleteOkay so the three tips have been Starbucks which has been most consistent, Anchor wine bar's new pizza joint and now a gay bar. We have not found anything solid verifying any one but will find out soon enough.
DeleteI believe Anchor's new pizza joint is on the other side of Broadway one block further south... there are planters with trees in front of it already (I think you may have posted a photo of it)
DeleteThis facade looks very nice... unlike the horrible garish facade just half a block north for a new chicken & burgers fast food place!
ReplyDeleteA gay bar would be nice. There doesn't seem to be anything local, unless I am missing something.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I would imagine a gay bar around FDB sooner than up on the 140's. At any rate, the place looks really appealing whatever is the outcome.
We just got some solid news that this will not be a coffee shop and looks like the bar angle might actually be true.
ReplyDeleteCould it be caffebene? They are popping up all over the city and the aesthetic here sure looks like one
