SHOP: NEW RESTAURANT AT 115TH STREET

The hoarding just went up in the past few days on the corner of 115th and FDB but now some cool graffiti has been placed up on site.  Based on the permits posted, it appears that a restaurant will be arriving at this section of South Harlem just a block away from the new Streetbird Rotisserie.  We do not have any more news on what type of eatery the establishment will be but price points should be a major player on this commercial avenue these days.  Marcus Samuelsson has launched something affordable and top notch in the area so hopefully other new restaurants will follow in the same line of thought when putting together their business concepts.

  1. Please no "lounge" or more southern comfort food (we have plenty of good options) or wine bars. A good gastropub would be great - we have a German beer hall (bier international), a sports bar (Harlem tavern) and finally a good pub (mess hall) - but something like Mess hall with more food options would be amazing.

  3. I believe it will be a gastro pub run by the same people who own Harlem Tavern.

  4. I live in one of the buildings and can say that the info we got is that it will be a tapas bar restaurant owned by the same people at Harlem Tavern. They have been under construction for over 1 month now, but the space is HUGE (2 floors), so I think it will be a while before they open.

  8. tapas/Peruvian is a nice addition. hopefully the food will be better than Harlem tavern. It would also be nice if at least the downstairs served late. all the restaurants around here close too damn early.
