REMEMBER: AN ELEVATED VIEW CIRCA 1928

Who can guess the rare vantage point of 125th Street taken in 1928?  One major clue is that it was taken on one of the elevated lines in the area.  Another is that one of the buildings used to be standing until very recently.  We will have the updated photo posted later on in the evening.

ANSWER:  The view is looking west towards St. Nicholas Avenue on 125th Street.  Until this year, the corner building was still still standing but has now been demolished.  Another glass commercial building will rise on the spot similar to the adjacent construction built about a decade ago.  Archival photo courtesy NYPL

  2. FDB/8th Avenue looking east? It's the Ninth Avenue elevated train line, I think.
