EAT: FIRST LOOK AT BONO TRATTORIA
Bono Trattoria just opened up in Hamilton Heights on Broadway by 151st Street and we were able to drop by last week to check out the wood oven pizza that they have on hand. Prices for a pie are closer to $12 and our selection of the evening was a Fig, Gorgonzola, Prosciutto pizza which turned out to be one of the most flavorful dishes we have had all year.
As far as presentation went, there could have been a little more artistry in the way the topping were layered but the crispy and chewy crust made up for that misstep along with the fresh ingredients. The sharpness of the gorgonzola was balanced perfectly by the sweet figs which paired well with the savory ham. Word of mouth must have it that the new eatery is one to check out since the well decorated interior filled up quickly by the time our meal finished up and we will definitely be back to check out some of the main dishes later this summer.
