SHOP: NEW STORE AT FORMER M&G DINER
Harlem's oldest diner shut down 5 years ago and has been vacant until now at the corner of 125th Street and Morningside Avenue. The owner of the building did a great job restoring the facade and retaining one of the iconic signs out front but whatever the lease was going for did not attract another food establishment. Rumors that at sneaker shop would arrive now appear to be accurate since the windows currently show the usual display of athletic gear and apparel that one finds typically uptown. We kind of hoped that someone like restauranteur Danny Meyers who had been looking for a space uptown might have swooped in and update the historic spot but alas things turned out quite differently.

Danny Myers uptown would be ideal.
ReplyDeleteI like that they did something w the legendary space, I don't mind that it's clothing but would of appreciated a more diverse choice. All in all its excellent to see some life in that location.
