SHOP: PROGRESS AT ANGEL OF HARLEM ON FDB
Construction started up at the new storefront at 2272 FDB by 122nd Street earlier this year but most of the interior has been pretty blank until now. The electrical, HVAC and drywall all now appear to be complete and the final finishes are currently being installed. This new lounge by the owners of the Corner Social on Lenox looks like it is trying to build out a classic interior within the modern, new building since woodwork now lines the floor to ceiling window from the inside. Corner Social did a great job with basically restoring the look of a century old storefront on Lenox but this building on the FDB corridor is more contemporary in aesthetic. At the current rate of progress, an opening should be coming about in the next couple of months this week and the new look of the space should finally be revealed by the end of summer.

Looks like a nice job transforming the interior. I wounder if they are planning to paint the exterior windows (gold leafing) or the steel trim to get a more classic aesthetic on the outside as well?
ReplyDeleteWalked by today, it looks gorgeous. So many places to eat, definitely need some live music venues and clothing boutiques. I'd like to see more Harlem fashion, am I the only one.
