REMEMBER: A CHURCH INTERSECTION CIRCA 1934

Who can guess the location of this historic Harlem corner taken circa 1934?  One major clue is that this intersection is a major landmark district and all of the building in the photo are intact today.  A more current photo will be posted later on when the answer is revealed.

ANSWER: The corner of 145th Street and Convent Avenue has not really changed much over the decades and many can recognize this corner today by the old photo.  Archival image courtesy NYPL

  2. It looks like 145th street and Convent Avenue. The steep hill gives the location away.

  3. What's amazing is that it looks pretty much EXACTLY the same now. 145th and Convent.

  6. I've got the NYC tax pictures of 1940 and 1980 for my place on 145-the most noticeable difference is 145 was cobblestones and had the trolley tracks going down the center in '40.....
