REMEMBER: HISTORIC TOWNHOUSES CIRCA 1932
Who can guess the location of these historic townhouses from this photo taken circa 1932? In the last 5 years, two of the majestic homes have gone under renovations and this location is one of the most charming landmark blocks to be found uptown.
ANSWER: The lower photo shows 227 and 229 Lenox Avenue today looking brand new after having been restored in recent years. This section of the Mount Morris Park Historic District around 121st Street is a city landmark so all of the buildings must remain intact as they were originally designed a century ago.
