The latest thing with eateries uptown seem to be serving up grub directly on old fashion metal trays. This concept is a little more formal than the plastic variations found at fast food joints and have a bit of nostalgia to them. We ordered the fish and chips over at the
Draft House on Broadway by 142nd Street recently and had a charming presentation with a fry basket include on top of the metalware.
Chaiwali on Lenox by 124th Street takes the concept a notch up with more polished trays that have several sections for various menu items to be served on. Good but approachable food seems to be popular at eateries these days and more familiar than formal presentations appear to also be trending.
