INTRODUCING: OLD SCHOOL BARBERSHOP ON LENOX

We received a tip yesterday that an old barber shop was coming to Lenox Avenue at the corner of 119th so we walked by to check out the new business.  Upon closer inspection, everything looked a bit flimsy over at Pop's (including the name) as far as the signage went and we asked the crew on hand if this was all just for filming.  It turns out that the storefront is merely part of a movie set so there is not much else more to report here.

  1. Thank God. We do not need any more barber shops in Harlem. And especially in that prime location. Way too many already.

  2. Speak for yourself...there are plenty of "Beauty Shops" in Harlem, but we guys have very few multi-generational Barber Shops left. Those use to be the places where Boys got to hang with Dads, Dudes, Old-timers and the rising day's Super Hero! In those shops the commentary on current events were much more lively, diverse and amusing then any of today's online rants.
