DRINK: THE NEW WEEKLY LGBT NIGHT IN HARLEM
We dropped by Hogshead Tavern at Hamilton Place by 142nd Street this past Sunday to see how their LGBT Pride night was turning out since the official launch this past summer. The event which features $5 beer specials and specially priced prosecco cocktails started at 8:00PM and the space was already half full with guests by the time 8:30PM rolled around. There have been other gay popup nights at uptown restaurants and cafes over the past few years but Hogshead is the first one to commit to one night out the week on a regular bases for the growing LGBT community uptown. From what we can gather, it appears that the scene is a little younger in Hamilton Heights since Columbia and City College probably draw in a lot of folks who are moving into the neighborhood for the more affordable Manhattan rents. We also like that the whole atmosphere is a little more polished and casual at the same time which is a refreshing change to some of the louder establishments found elsewhere. Pride Night happens every Sunday at 129 Hamilton Place starting at 8:00PM so make sure to check it out.

I've went once or twice in Summer, now that the Fall and Winter seasons are among us, it's so great to know there is a great LGBT night right around the block. The restaurant has a great vibe.
