INTRODUCING: PROGRESS AT 118 KITCHEN
A Bespoke tip came in advising that 118 Kitchen on 118th Street just east of Fifth Avenue looks like it will open sometimes very soon. We kind of had hoped that the Tex-Mex and Sushi spot would be a brilliant hole in the wall with great food but it could also go the other direction based on just the visuals so far. There actually is not a good Tex-Mex takeout for uptowners so that is definitely something that could work but the sushi game is pretty on point these days in Harlem. It will be interesting to see how one concept fares over the other when 118 Kitchen finally opens.

it is open and has been for at least a week. It’s a takeaway.
ReplyDeleteIt's already open... very basic takeout set-up... 15% during their launch.
ReplyDeleteIt is a take away. Sushi was good and they are giving 15% discount. It is own by Asians who happened to have another restaurant in East Harlem around 2nd avenue and 104 street.
ReplyDeleteThe mexican food did not look good to me from the pictures.
Tex Mex and sushi? Okay.
ReplyDeleteWe live a few doors down and the owners are very sweet. I would never eat sushi from there simply on principal alone but the Tex-Mex is fine. It's exactly the same type of Mexican-type food that is sprinkled throughout the city as small takeaways. It's an extremely tough area to open anything that isn't a deli but hopefully they will be successful.
