READ: MORE HOTELS AND APARTMENTS ON 126TH
The empty industrial area on the south side of 126th Street between Amsterdam and Convent Avenue will have some company in the near future if all goes well. An article in the Real Deal mentioned that a developer has purchased one of the old garage buildings and has big plans for the area. Harlem does not have a lot of hotels currently but now it looks like a 9-story overnight option for travelers will be rising on the garage site. This building was probably a carriage house at some point which would have made sense in this part of Harlem that was uptown's brewery district. On the land a couple of blocks west, a 16-story residential will rise with 75 apartments altogether: LINK
