REVIVE: DEMOLITION AT 314-316 WEST 127TH STREET
A tip came in last week that demolition has started on 314-316 West 127th Street which are a couple of abandoned tenements just east of St. Nicholas Avenue. Sidewalk sheds had been set up on the site some time ago because of stability issues and now a construction crew is on the block dismantling the two buildings. Permits for a new development have not been posted on the DOB website but our tipster mentioned they talked to one of the workers for more details. According to word of mouth, both addresses have been sold and the plan is to have a new residential construction rise on the lots once the demo work has been completed. On a side note, this location is literally a couple of doors away from the express train station that takes one to 59th Street in one stop and thus is rather ideal for developers.
