READ: AUCTION FOR HOMOPHOBIC CHURCH POSTPONED

According to various news sources, the auction for the notorious homophobic church on Lenox by 123rd Street is set for today because of over $1 million in debt.  We have not seen anything else as far as updates but one comment in our past post mentioned that everything has now been postponed.  Does anyone have additional details on this recent development?

UPDATE:  Here is the link to the story for the postponed auction because of a hearing now set for April 21st on the case: LINK

  3. Yes the church is absolutely homophobic, but that label narrows down its bigotry. Can we just refer to the church as the HATE church of Harlem. The list of people it offends goes far beyond the LGBT Community.

    2. Read the article. The court case has nothing to do with the sign out front.

  7. This is akin to a temporary stay of execution. From what I read about the church's financial problems, this is more than an unwarranted tax bill, as the church claims.

They have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of unpaid bills for water, sewage and other city services. I assume that after the next hearing, they'll be on the auction block. The good reverend who runs this church believes in a literal interpretation of the bible -- and it just so happens that his day of reckoning will soon be upon him.

  8. Note, from index number, this case is from 2004 (!) The wheels of justice turn slowly. Especially in New York and especially for foreclosures. One of the many reasons the government makes new york is so expensive.
