Some might wonder what is going on with the group of tenement that have been boarded up on 125th Street just east of Lenox Avenue since scaffolding is now up on site. This is one of those situations where the property owner has not invested in the dwelling units over the years but has kept some of the commercial spaces available to rent as a source of income. Based on DOB permits filed, the buildings will not be demolished but altered so this might just be renovation work being done to keep things from falling apart.
