EAT: HAND CUT FRIES AT ROW HOUSE

French fries are generally good no matter how they are served up but we have been seeing a lot shoestring offerings as of late so a chunky hand-cut variation was a welcoming sight at Row House on FDB by 115th Street.  There is more surface area per potato stick which means more crispiness and also that everything stays warmer for a bit longer.  Skinny french fries tend to go cold quite quickly and are often limp when they do.  With that in mind, maybe more eateries out there will come up with thicker cuts such as the classic crinkle or even a waffle version.  For more on Row House, check out our past post: LINK

  2. LOL had to respond to this because you seem to be pushing a pretty specific "thick cut" agenda. How about a post mentioning where we can find some good fries of the "shoestring" variety? I've found them elusive - thick cut is much easier to chop, and harder to mess up, so they tend to be the go-to.
