Tips have been coming in that the block on Broadway just below 125th Street will be debuting one of the biggest national chain shops in the coming months. Some of the local mom & pop coffee shops also mentioned as much on past visits and this seems to be an overall trend happening in Harlem where every corner is now become a point of commercial interest. This intersection is just below the rumbling elevated 1 Train Station and faces some rather massive public housing towers but the proximity to the new Columbia University campus in Manhattanville is probably a big factor. By this time next year, everyone will be calling the neighborhood Morningside Heights but our opinion is that Manhattanville is a much more interesting angle.
