EAT: BRICK OVEN PIZZA AT DRAFT HOUSE
We noticed that The Draft House on Broadway just below 142nd Street had the outdoor seating up late in the season so we stopped by during lunch hour last week to check out the pizza on the menu. Our first review last year did not include the brick oven offerings since things were not fully operational at the rustic pub but we were always curious to find out how things stacked up to the other new uptown eateries. Seeing that the Margherita pizza was only $10, we had to try out this classic variation and was not disappointed at all. This is actually a thin style presentation which is a lot lighter but had a perfect, crispy char on the underside and the top. All the flavors were balanced and the fresh basil also added the requisite bright note to the entire experience. Harlem has many great pizza options now and The Draft House is definitely one of them.
