BESPOKE: DESIGN DETAILS IN MANHATTANVILLE

Besides being one of the largest glass facades to be found uptown, the new science building over at the Columbia University Manhattanville campus is also unique in the way it has worked out the soft finishes.  While passing by on the elevated train at this intersection of Broadway, we noticed that matching window shades have been installed and this visual continuity is something refreshing for this type of architecture.  Many new constructions that have a lot of glass often leave it up to the those residing within to pick out the blinds and end result is usually a mash of different aesthetics jamming up what was once a clear vision.
