Bierstrasse on 12th Avenue by 133rd Street is definitely the most authentic traditional beer garden to be found uptown and now has cleverly converted the massive outdoors space into a cozy destination for the holiday season. We walked by this part of the viaduct on the west side over the weekend and noticed that an impressive tent had been placed over the outdoor portion which had festive lights glimmering within. There is actually a lot of indoor seating at Bierstrasse but the fun part of these types of establishments is actually being outdoors so the new winterized patio makes for a great seasonal update. Those looking for a bit of holiday cheer should check out this unique address with breathtaking views during weeknights and also for weekend brunch which apparently is happening now.
