ARCHITECTURE: BRICK FACADE AT THE RENNY
The 134-unit building that stood where the Renaissance Ballroom once held court on 7th Avenue by 137th Street has now started placing brick on the facade. This is a much improved aesthetic since the original rendition was a reviled, bland concrete iteration that had many in the neighborhood unsettled. Although the developer did not save a piece of Harlem's history, at least The Renny now has a similar appearance to what was originally there albeit an 8-story version. Once finished, the new construction will also have an allotment of affordable units mixed in with the market rate rentals.
