BESPOKE: SEE. PAINTING FINISHES 2017
We dropped by the studio of See.Painting Inc this week to check out what was new with Harlem's premier gilding and plaster expert. The company started up on Sugar Hill by Sandra Spannan has now moved to South Harlem at the corner of 118th Street and is known for gilding along with decorative plasterwork. Verre Eglomise is the traditional craft of applying real gold leaf to glass and See.Painting has restored many townhouse numbers at uptown addresses along with doing window signage for major clients such as downtown's Balthazar restaurant.
One of the other artisan offerings that the local company specializes in is that of plaster wall finishes in the Italian or Japanese styles which are all lime based. Samples on hand include distressed looks but also highly polished surfaces with metallic or pigmented color were also on hand .
